About
This will sound odd coming from someone selling t-shirts, but I have a strained relationship with consumerism. I don’t want to contribute to creating a world full of unnecessary disposable stuff. To be clear, my commitment here is to only create products that I, or my loved ones truly want to have (and to make them well enough that they are worth having around for a while).
Many of these designs amount to me attempting to frame the challenges of parenthood in an optimistic way. A ‘dad-positive’ cheering squad complete with mascots to keep spirits up when the home team is down at the end of the third quarter? To me, this sounds like a good idea.
It’s important to point out that none of this dad-centric stuff is intended to diminish the contribution of moms. Without my wife’s constant support, I would need a lot more than a cheering squad and mascots. My first order of business in designing these products is to try to make my wife and son laugh or smile. I’m fortunate that they both have generous senses of humor (if that was not the case, I would definitely not be doing this).
Ultimately, this ‘Dad Joke’ endeavor is a place for me to be creative and have fun making things that have some (albeit weird) appeal. I hope you find that to be the case.
Sincerely,
Dad
